To the author of the email below....thank you for your response. With all sincerity, thank you. Among all the people that post on CL, or reply to posts, your response is refreshing. You are a person that I believe would be good to know. Love the "when the going gets tough, the tough go fishing." My boat motor is currently waiting on a parts order, but I'm hopeful they get installed before the weekend. Because Galveston Bay beckons. There is nothing like being on the water. Don't even need to catch fish, but that makes it a lot more fun. Greens Lake? San Luis Pass? East Bay? Yeah, buddy. Again, thanks for taking the time to write. Would you rather live in Afghanistan or anywhere in the Middle East ? How about South America ? Russia ? China ? Anywhere in the Far East ? Europe ? There has always been crap going on in this country. Why ? Because God gave us free will. It's not a white thing, black thing, Hispanic or any other ethnicity thing. It is a human thing. There will always be crap among mankind. Difference ? In this country we can bitch about it, write about it, march against it, but most important we have laws and a government that allows something to be done about it. But you have to act with a passion ! Stick with it, make a change. Try that in Russia, China, the Middle East, etc. etc. The Taliban has no bottom. There is infinite depth to the level of violence they will descend to. Any group capable of shooting a little girl in the face on a school bus for wanting to go to school is beyond depravity. There have been threats of wanton violence in this country. Unfortunately it has occurred. I find the Massacre in Tulsa one of the US 's greatest shames. But the March on Washington and other marches with Dr King are some of the US's greatest triumphs. Hate white people ? Look at the photos and videos of those marches and assemblies. Look at all the white people and other ethnicities in the crowds. US citizens marching in unity against injustice. Hate black people ? Watch videos of the Tuskegee Airmen and other black men in uniform fighting for this country. Hate Hispanics ? Watch videos of them in uniform. More Hispanics have been awarded the Medal of Honor than any other group. Currently the US Marine Corps is 67% Hispanic ! Fear crime and violence in your home ? We have the Second Amendment. When seconds count, the cops are minutes away ! Someone busts into your house ( this happens too often ) shoot the son of a bitch ! No other western nation allows its citizenry to own weapons as we do. Too many criminals with guns ? They're criminals ! They don't follow laws !!!! Guns dangerous ? People can be dangerous ! A gun is only as dangerous as the person holding it, and only as helpful as the person holding it. I am a Patriot Life Member of the National Rifle Association. We believe it is better to have a gun and not need it, than to need a gun and not have it. But we believe in responsible gun ownership. If you are going to have one, practice with it and know all about its function and the laws that apply to using it. Pissed off about all the bullshit ? I have a saying : " When the going gets tough, the tough go fishing !" Breakaway, get away with buddies, yourself, your dog, a sweetie and recharge your battery.
