Plant Maintenance Mechanic – Preventative Maintenance Water Management, Brown Water Supply & Treatment Plant Job Class: B228; Pay Range: $43,302.00 - $46,824.00 Water Management seeks an experienced mechanic with strong working knowledge of water treatment and reclamation facilities or power plant systems and equipment. Join our Brown Water Treatment team and use your expertise and skills to conduct all scheduled preventative maintenance services on all mechanical systems equipment and components per manufactures' recommendations and best operational practices. Use your knowledge to identify equipment maintenance needs and enter appropriate work orders into the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). This role maintains preventative maintenance logs on all equipment and systems and works collaboratively with Plant Engineering and Maintenance staff to coordinate corrective maintenance activities. Requirements: • High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED, HiSET, TASC) • Three years of related experience • Valid, unrestricted, North Carolina driver's license "or" if you currently have another states driver's license, must be willing and able to obtain a valid NC driver's license within 60 days of hire • B-CDL preferred; must be able to obtain within 6 months • AWWA Maintenance Technologist certification preferred • C-Surface certification preferred • Knowledge of plant operational characteristics such as equipment, tools, & lubricants Ability to read and interpret manuals, blueprints, written and oral instructions • Thorough knowledge and application of OSHA safety procedures/protocols, especially lock-out/tag-out • Ability to operate (or learn) equipment (forklift, bobcat, skid steer) when needed • Rotate and serve standby/recall for emergencies often during inclement weather Generous benefits include 401(k), retirement, retirement health savings account, medical, dental, vision, generous holiday & annual leave plus other available/optional benefits.
