Found a stray dog

I was driving home from work and saw a dog walk by himself. I found him at 3rd street Santa Monica. The dog I think is a lab mix. I opened my car door and the dog jumped right in. I tried to take him out two times but he kept on jumping into my back seats I tried to locate the owner nearby but couldn't find anyone. I will try to keep him for a couple night then send to the shelter. By the way, no chip ( went to Petco to scan already ), no tag, nothing
