Ever thought about a career in maritime? Come to our free info session to find out how to get started. When: Second Tuesday of every month, 6:00 - 7:30 pm Where: Seattle Maritime Academy, 4455 Shilshole Avenue Long before Seattle was a tech town, it was a maritime town. In fact, it still is.In a city powered by tech companies, is there still a demand for maritime workers? Absolutely! In fact, Seattle's maritime industry is currently experiencing a serious shortage of qualified mariners. That's where Seattle Maritime Academy comes in. Our year-long, US Coast Guard-approved training programs prepare men and women from all walks of life for successful careers in the maritime workforce. Upon completion, students will earn a rating of either Able Bodied Seaman (AB) or Qualified Member of the Engineering Department (QMED). These are the entry-level credentials needed to work on vessels ranging from tugboats to tankers, ferries to fishing boats.
