An Evening of drinks, dinner, silent auction, entertainment, & introductions to Lily's Heart Charitable Organization. The Story of Lily’s Shop & her new Charity: Lily’s Heart Lily’s Heart is a new, Charitable Organization with a mission to spread love, happiness, and a helpful hand to all. Inspired by our little Liliana Rose, we want to brighten people’s days as much as she brightens ours with just her smile! Lily truly loves everyone and spreads happiness wherever she goes. We want to follow her example. Our initial goal is to raise money so that by the end of 2021 we can donate a nice sum of money to a family living long-term at Johns Hopkins with a sick child. When Lily was a baby, she had heart surgery and stayed in the Intensive Care unit at Johns Hopkins’ Children’s Center for many weeks. During her stay, we met many families from out of town who had been living there with their children for months and months. Many were away from their other children and feeling the struggle of having to give up jobs and pay for extra child care at the same time. With bills mounting, we saw the hardship written all over their faces. No one should have to worry over money while they are already worrying for their sick baby. We wanted to do something for them but had no idea where to start. After three years, we are realizing our dreams. As we raise money to donate, we are also using money and time to give to families in need on a smaller basis. For example, this past Christmas we bought and wrapped presents so that a struggling family could provide a happy Christmas for their four children. Currently we are making up a care package for a family who just brought their baby girl home after a five month stay in the NICU at Johns Hopkins. With your help, we hope to do more things like this as we grow. We would help everyone if we could! Every day, we see there are so many different ways people are in need of a helping hand. Recently, I heard the story of a single mom in nursing school and working full time with three children. She told me that she was mopping the floor one night at 1am, sobbing because she was so tired but had no other time to scrub her dirty house. She was at the end of her rope. Our goal at Lily’s Heart is to provide people with more rope in any way that we can. This world is not easy and we hope to make it a little easier and brighter as much as we possibly can! We hope you will join us and consider donating to Lily’s Heart. To help us raise money, we run a little Shop, appropriately named Lily’s Shop. We sell gently used children’s toys, clothes, and books. We accept donations of these items and if you need it, we can provide store credit to help you purchase other things in our shop. Our eventual goal is to let families in need shop for free. Also, we are currently accepting diapers and wipes to give to families with new babies that cannot easily afford these much-needed items. We appreciate all the help we receive more than you know!
