Atelier 4 Inc is a provider of fine-arts shipping and handling services, with over 30 years as an industry leader. We are seeking an experienced and safe-working fine art handler for full-time employment in Long Island City. The position works in our crate shop to pack and fit all types of artworks; paintings, framed editions, sculptures, 3-D items, etc. Candidates should have the following qualifications: -- Experience in fine arts packing or similar position, preferably in a crating shop. -- Knowledge of cavity-packing, foam-fitting, and art-handling best practices. -- Power-tools skills on cutting equipment, trained in safe handling procedures. -- Minimum of high school degree or equivalent; minimum 21 years of age. -- Ability to safely lift and handle at least 50 pounds as part of the daily activities. -- Ability to work extended periods standing, bending, lifting, and/or carrying. Atelier 4 Inc provides a positive and safe & sane work environment, with company benefits (health-plan, paid time-off, etc) and skills training available. Starting rate is $21.00/hr and up based on experience. After six months of safe performance, we will provide a skills & pay-rate review for packing-shop staff.
