compensation: $15.00/hour + Signing Bonus employment type: part-time JOB SUMMARY A great opportunity to establish yourself with a local sanitation company in our growing valley! A Route Helper assists the Rearload driver to ensure the alley routes are run efficiently, productively, and safely at all times. We pride ourselves on the friendly, respectful service we provide. Position is part-time with a guaranteed 20 hours per week minimum, primarily Monday-Wednesday. Other duties include operating a local container delivery route. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Operates the cart tipper to unload the cart. • Returns receptacles to the proper location. • Steps up and down repeatedly to the riding position at the back of the truck, approximately 16 inches. • Holds on to the side handrail for safety purposes. • Collects excess refuse that may be present, some of which may require lifting, moving and carrying heavy objects weighing 50 pounds or more, repeatedly. • Collects spilled refuse that may have occurred in the servicing of receptacles ensuring that all areas are left clean and free of debris. • Assigned routes and duties must be completed efficiently and on-schedule. • Works out-of-doors, possibly under adverse weather conditions. • Know and understand driving hand signals. • Able to wear company uniform for the job and maintain a neat, professional appearance at all times. • Uses hand tools, such as a broom, shovel, rake or other small tools, as required. • Assists in the general maintenance and cleaning of vehicles and equipment. • Sits, stands, stoops, bends, climbs and walks intermittently. • Other delivery route work and facility maintenance duties, as assigned. REQUIREMENTS • Must have authorization to legally work in the United States. • Must have a valid Driver’s License. • Must submit to and pass a background check and drug-screening tests. • Have knowledge and/or the ability to learn about occupational hazards and safety precautions. • Ability to consistently run and repeatedly lift, move, and carry heavy objects weighing 50 pounds or more. • Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with other personnel and the public. • Ability to be alert to traffic and aware of both safe and unsafe procedures and situations that may occur. • Must be a team player and work well under minimal supervision.
