Thank you for your interest in adopting from Dakin Humane Society! Are you looking to add a small animal to your family? Dakin Humane Society has a wide variety of adorable, small furry friends to choose from. You can learn more about general small animal care by browsing our list of adoptable animals and reading the adoption descriptions. (Please note that specific animals cannot be held/reserved ahead of time and we cannot guarantee that your preferred animal will be available). The following small animals are included in the Fees Waived: Small Animal Adoption Event: Rabbits Guinea pigs Rats MiceBefore You Register: We ask that you have a housing unit purchased before coming to the event. Most housing sold in pet stores is too small for them. Please carefully review our housing requirements for each species (included during registration). Please email us a photo of your small animal housing to [email protected] or plan to bring a photo along. Housing for guinea pigs and rabbits will be available for purchase at Dakin Humane Society during the Adoption Event.Masks and social distancing are required while visiting Dakin Humane Society, regardless of vaccination status. We are all doing our best to keep everyone safe!We expect that most available small animals will be ready to go home with you after adoption, so be prepared for your new furry friend to leave with you.If you are in need of extra supplies, like toys, carriers, and water bottles, check out our Home Again Thrift Shop open during the event. Please be prepared for possible wait times. In an effort to find the right match for each family, some appointments may run longer than expected.
