Beginner/Intermediate (and Refresher) Acrylic Paint Class Let 2021 be the year to follow your dreams! Let us help you make them a reality! Has art always been a secret passion or interest? Have you tried learning on your own over the years but always found that you have a lot more questions that go unanswered? Would you be more comfortable in a small, friendly class, knowing that you feel "part of the group?" Look no further - we have the perfect class for you! This is a comprehensive beginner/intermediate (or refresher) class. The class will be held on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at the American Legion in Buena Vista VA. A total of 5 spots are available. This small environment is designed to help create a friendly, stress free, one on one learning experience. This course will cover the following: Differences between painting media types (oil, acrylic, watercolor, etc.)Differences in canvas types, canvas boards, and various painting materialsBasic use of various artist tools (brushes, palette knives, mops, chalk, etc.)One and two point perspectivesHow to properly use various artistic styles and techniquesProper use of various painting mediumsBasic color and color blendingBasic light, shadow, and tone valuesWhether you have never picked up a paint brush, or you have some basic experience and simply need a refresher course - I will teach you, step by step. Do not fret or worry! I will break down the tips and tricks to help get you started on your artistic journey. You are more than welcome to bring your own materials from home or go out and purchase them yourself. I have listed the materials needed below. They do not have to be expensive or professional grade. If you would like to purchase a materials kit, you may do so when you sign up for this class. Kits are $20 and will be given out the night of the class. The kit will be used during class and it is yours to keep. Paper and pencils will be provided for taking notes and sketching. The Kit will include: (1) 11x14 canvas(1) package of acrylic paints (white, red, blue, yellow, black)(1) medium flat brush(1) large flat brush(1) medium round brushBy the end of the class, each student will be able to paint a basic landscape/nature scene and will leave with a painting they created.
