Enjoy a paddle on the Carmans River to see the Harvest Full Moon of September 2021`
Historically, Native Americans gave a name to each month’s full Moon, naming it in relation to a natural event or sign of the season. This aided them in tracking the progression of the year. Different peoples had different names, reflecting the area where they lived.
One such name for the September full Moon was the Full Corn Moon because it traditionally corresponded with the time of harvesting corn. It was also called the Barley Moon, as this is the time to harvest and thresh ripened barley.
Our Full Moon Paddle will take place on the Carmans River. We launch from Carmans River Canoe & Kayak and watch the moon rise while we paddle along the river, after the moon has fully risen we will paddle back under the bright, full moon. This tour takes approximately 2 hours. Snacks and Beverages are provided.
