A concert inspired from our ever-changing world featuring works by Vivaldi, Handel and Stravinsky.
Nuts and Bolts refers to the fundamentals or practicalities of concert-making, given how our world has been reshaped. This concert features works by Vivaldi and Handel for strings only. Next is music by a young Strauss where at age 17 composed a serenade that helped to launch his composing and conducting career. The concert will end with the groundbreaking work, Octet, by Stravinsky. In the early 20th century, at a time when artists were looking for new styles, Stravinsky, yet again, lead the way with this Neo-classic work, full of 18th century mannerisms.
Concert is one-hour long with no intermission. The program includes:

The Loudoun Symphony Orchestra performs 6-8 concerts each season .
