Do you have a dachshund with a need for speed and a nose for the finish line? Sign up for the Running of the Wieners race! Do you have a dachshund with a need for speed and a nose for the finish line? Sign up for the Running of the Wieners race, a precursor to Oktoberfest Zinzinnati 2021. Registration fee includes registration of one dog, and includes one costume and one owner t-shirt. If you are registering multiple dogs, please make sure to submit registration and payment for each individually. Check-in takes place from 11-11:30 a.m. on Freedom Way near Walnut Street and Yard House. The first heat of the race will start promptly at 12:00pm Dogs, outfitted in their provided hot dog bun costumes, will run in heats of ten, approximately 75 feet to their owners waiting at the finish line. The winner of each heat will compete in a final race to determine the winning wiener dog! Prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place! Invite your friends and family to watch the races, too!  Admission to view the race is FREE. This event is rain or shine! Only 100 registrants will be accepted.  *Purebred dachshunds are preferred, but mixed breeds of dachshunds are permitted to enter as long as they are the average length and weight of a dachshund.  Please consult with us by sending a photo to [email protected] prior to registering if you're unsure.
