Description
Free-range flock seeking awesome home.
I posted awhile back, but was overwhelmed by the response. I hope to make this post more clear and answer the most common questions I received when I initially offered my flock.
Our birds are (with a few exceptions) free-range, and I would prefer that they go somewhere similar. They have a coop that is predator safe, and they make their way home every day by 5:00pm. We close their door and then open it for them in the morning. You would receive whatever feed and supplements we have left, a waterer and a food container. You would need to have or build a coop of your own.
There are 9 birds: a Black Copper Maran cross rooster, two white Austras, a Buckeye, an Australorp, two Exchequer Leghorns, one black Ameraucana, and an unknown cross pullet hatched by one of the Austras. The hens were hatched Spring 2020; the rooster September 7th, 2020; the pullet at the beginning of June 2021. They are laying about four eggs a day right now. If you would like them, you need to be able to provide a home for all of them.
Our rooster is incredibly friendly and would love to find a home who can treasure him the way that we do here. He was hatched by one of our hens and then raised by hand next to our stove. He is calm with everyone he meets, including dogs and cats and children. He loves treats and will call the hens from all around to take treats from your hand. He is aware of potential dangers to his flock and understands how to corral them to safety.
Please let me know if you think that you are the best fit for our little flock. Best offer takes them home.
