Description
Enter the flow of gratitude with this creative fundraiser for Waterspirit. How can we express our gratitude to the rivers, ocean, creeks and estuaries---the watery world around us? How can we say thank you? We will look to literature for inspiration and to our own imaginations and memories during our time together. Let’s discover the glimmers of our individual experience through fast writing exercises and sharing. Come have fun—no experience in creative writing necessary—all are welcome! All proceeds will benefit Waterspirit, a nonprofit center for spiritual ecology sponsored by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace. Gathering is limited to twelve participants. When social distancing is not possible, face masks are requested regardless of vaccination status. This event will be held under the oak trees on the grounds of the First Presbyterian Church of Rumson. Rain date: Sunday, October 3 from 2-4 p.m. About the Facilitator: Nancy Bryan is an educator, writer, and mother. She holds an MFA in creative writing from Vermont College of Fine Arts. She lives on a tidal creek in Fair Haven with her two dogs. Learn more at: https://nancysbryan.com/ What others have said: "Nancy Bryan is a wonderful teacher and mentor. In her workshops and one on one sessions she creates an atmosphere of comfort and safety. She brings a breadth of knowledge to each session, sharing her personal experience as a writer. As a result each session is interesting and motivating. I am an improved, more organized, and more thoughtful writer since I started working with her." --Dorothy Doyle WATERSPIRIT’s Mission Statement WATERSPIRIT is a center of ecology and spirituality that informs, inspires, and enables all people to deepen their consciousness of the sacredness and interdependence of all creation with a focus on water as critical in sustaining all life.
