Japan week runs from 9/8 through 9/15! We have two huge events to celebrate this fundraising event for the Japanese Arts Foundation and Culture Center including a screening of Sofia Coppola’s 2003 cult classic Lost in Translation! Includes ticket to film, Suntory Toki highballs, themed photo booth, shodo calligraphy performance, 1 raffle ticket, original artwork movie poster by Derrick Fields, and popcorn. Expect a professional Lost in Translation themed photo booth, complimentary Suntory Toki Highballs, karaoke, and more! Cosplay welcome! This event is 21+ and guests will be required to show ID for entry Japanese Arts Foundation resident artist and master Japanese calligrapher, Hekiun Oda, will kick off our night with a large-scale avant guard calligraphy performance that could be ‘lost in translation’, but not with us! The finished work, along with gift baskets and swag from BeamSuntory, the Japanese Arts Foundation and Culture Center will be included as prizes in a fundraising raffle to support the future of Japanese arts thriving in Chicago. Purchase raffle tickets for $5 each or 4 tickets for $15 and have a chance to take this incredible artwork and other amazing prizes home with you! All screening tickets, raffle tickets, poster sales, and Suntory Times Party proceeds go to support the Japanese Arts Foundation.
