In this Yoga Alliance Approved 30 CEU Continuing Educational training, you will learn the techniques of Yin yoga. In this Continuing Educational training, you will learn the techniques of Yin yoga in a way that will allow you to share this practice with others in a safe and appropriate manner. In this training, we will guide you through the theory behind Yin yoga, including physiological, energetic and psychological benefits. You’ll dive deeply into the practice as you will learn how to safely practice Yin yoga and teach it to others. Yoga teachers earn 30 contact continuing education hours at the completion of this training through Yoga Alliance. The course will be facilitated over three weekends of in-person contact hours. In-Person mandatory training schedule: Weekend 1: Saturday 9/25, 2:00-7:00 PM and Sunday 9/26, 12:00-6:00 PM. ½ hour break each day. Weekend 2: Saturday 10/9, 2:00-7:00 PM and Sunday 10/10, 12:00-6:00 PM. ½ hour break each day. Weekend 3: Saturday 10/16, 2:00-7:00 PM and Sunday 10/17, 12:00-6:00 PM. ½ hour break each day. Course content: · The nature of yin and yang · Practicing with intention and attention · The three functional principles of affectively practicing Yin yoga · Anatomy: connective tissue and fascia · Yin yoga poses · Sequencing your classes · Class themes · Integrating readings and dharma talks into the practice · Foundational meditation to develop mindfulness Included in this course is a yin yoga manual. Full participation and completion of all coursework is required to apply for CEU hours through Yoga Alliance. Facilitating the training will be Toni Ferrarie, the founder and owner of The Breathing Room Yoga & Wellness yoga studio in Riverdale, NJ. Toni been practicing yoga and meditation for as long as she can remember. She is a certified 500 hour registered yoga teacher and a yoga education provider, meeting Yoga Alliance standards. She is certified in meditation and mindfulness, classical yoga including Ashtanga, Tantra, Vinyasa and Hatha. She is a certified teacher in Chair Yoga focusing on seniors and other special needs populations, Restorative Yoga, Yin Yoga and Yoga Nidra. She is also certified in Ayurveda. She follows the teachings of B.K.S. Iyengar, Georg Feurstein, Vasant Lad, Bernie Clark, Swami Sivananda, Judith Lasater among other great teachers. Joining Toni in the training will be Hugo Sanchez, a certified Yoga Instructor meeting Yoga Alliance standards as E-RYT200 & YACEP. Besides his formal Yoga Teacher Training, his practice is infused with his personal spiritual practice, mediation techniques and dharma teachings from the Shambhala Meditation Center of New York, Integral Yoga Institute of New York, and The Blue Cliff Monastery. Additional credentials include Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction Program Certification by the Ramapo College of New Jersey, Yin Yoga, Yoga Nidra, Pranayama, and Meditation. Hugo is currently undergoing a Life Coach Certification Program. His bold sense of humor and integrated approach to the practice offers a simple yet uniquely transformative, heartfelt and empowering perspective.
