Acres of Peace (AOP) was named by WWII veteran Firchau because it provided him mental solitude and physical engagement with purpose: respite from life after service and positive activities with his farm and family. Bring yourself and your family/friends to experience this peace and joy. The gentle sun on your shoulders, the breeze through your hair and the smell of fresh woods and ranch...experience it for yourself! Heidi from AOP at Woodland Meadows in LaSalle County is inviting all veterans and their families. Arrive at 1000 for the welcome followed by: Horseshoe crafts, Petting zoo, food truck, pony rides, Lawn games, trail hikes. VETANKs are available for mobility of course. You must reserve one. ADA bathrooms on site are available. We will also tour the "Hip Camp " camp sites they have for future programming! Register today to get your free meal ticket for the food truck. Walk-ins will buy their own lunches. *If you have allergies, this is a ranch, please plan ahead. *Dress for the weather and the woods, mud, horse ranch land. No open toed shoes.
