Protect Chicago Music Series Presents ¡Súbelo! A partnership between the Chicago Department of Public Health, the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE), the Chicago Park District, and Pilsen Fest, ¡Súbelo! will feature live music, food from local restaurants, artisan vendors, and more. Musical acts will be announced soon. Tickets are free for Chicago residents who are vaccinated against COVID-19. Registrations are on a first come, first-serve basis. There will be a limited number of tickets available and individuals are strongly encouraged to register early. Attendees must be 18+ and be vaccinated against COVID-19. Those who are not yet vaccinated must receive their final dose of a two-dose vaccine or a single-dose vaccine on or before Saturday, August 21 to be eligible to attend. You must bring your Eventbrite ticket, a photo ID, and proof of vaccination to enter the event. COVID-19 vaccines are widely available and offered at no cost. About Protect Chicago Music Series: Protect Chicago Music Series events are exclusively for fully COVID-19 vaccinated Chicagoans. A partnership between the Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH) and the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE), the Protect Chicago Music Series includes a variety of musical events taking place across Chicago as an incentive and benefit for Chicagoans who receive a COVID-19 vaccine to protect their families, communities, and themselves. ¡Súbelo! is part of DCASE’s “Chicago In Tune,” a new citywide festival taking place from August 19th through September 19th celebrating Chicago’s diverse and legendary music scene and the 2021 Year of Chicago Music. This month of music will bring together iconic neighborhood venues, presenting organizations and musicians from across the city to celebrate all music genres and forms — with hundreds of free and ticketed events at dozens of venues. The festival is part of “Open Culture” — just one component of Mayor Lightfoot’s “Open Chicago” initiative to safely and fully reopen the city. The event is presented as part of the Chicago Park District’s Night Out in the Parks series, supported by the Mayor’s Office and DCASE. Now in its 9th year, the 2021 Night Out in the Parks program presents cultural events year-round in neighborhood parks throughout the city. The Chicago Park District in partnership with over 100 local artists and organizations, present engaging events and performances that enhance quality of life across Chicago and amplify the artistic and cultural vibrancy in every neighborhood. Through multiple disciplines, which include theater, music, movies, dance, site-specific work, nature programs, and community festivals, the series aims to support Chicago-based artists, facilitate community-based partnerships and programs, cultivate civic engagement, and ensure equity in access to the arts for all Chicagoans.
