Join the Bastiat Society of Chicago for an in-person event with Yuri Maltsev, Professor of Economics at Carthage College. Socialism is no longer entertained by academics but is considered a real political alternative taken seriously by our ruling elites. Many Americans don’t recognize that what they enjoy in life is a result of free enterprise and would disappear if socialism were to be implemented. The reality of socialism is political tyranny based on coercion and mass murder. We’ll discuss different forms of socialism including communism and fascism. Cost to attend: $15 per person. Eventbrite registration required. _______________________ Schedule: 6:00 PM - 6:15 PM: Networking Reception 6:15 PM - 7:00 PM: Speaker Presentation 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM: Open Discussion / Networking _______________________ More about the speaker: Yuri Maltsev is a Professor of Economics at Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin, earned his B.A. and M.A. degrees at Moscow State University, and his Ph.D. in Labor Economics at the Institute of Labor Research in Moscow, Russia.
