Opening Reception Ihdago Manipi: Clay County at 150 Friday, September 10, 2021, 4-7PM Hjemkomst Center Join us at the Hjemkomst Center on Friday, September 10, from 4-7PM as we celebrate the opening of our sesquicentennial exhibition, Ihdago Manipi: Clay County at 150. The exhibition offers a view to the formation and early years of Clay County, Minnesota, exploring the region's indigenous Dakota, Ojibwe, and Métis communities and tallgrass prairies, as well as the arrival of immigrant families, the dispossession of indigenous people, an ecological and agricultural revolution, and the construction of modern American life. Refreshments will be provided in the 3rd Floor Atrium and Ihdago Manipi is on exhibition in the 4th Floor Gallery. Due to current recommendations from the Minnesota Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control, masks and social distancing are required in our galleries. Registration for the event is required and capacity has been limited to 75 visitors.
