Description

"Prepare to feel. Kim beautifully sandwiches content, sometimes uplifting, sometimes hilarious and always real between scripture and prayer" Venessa Kim Ceasar is a native of Wilmington, NC, where she became a teen parent at the age of twelve. This life-altering experience has blessed her with an abundance of knowledge, empathy and perspective, and a passion for her ministry. After graduating high school, she continued her education at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Communication. In 1985, she was married to her love, Terry Porter, to whom this book is dedicated. After 2 ½ years, her husband experienced a tragic death, and she found herself a widow with two sons. With the support of her mother, she then returned to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. In 1990, Kim moved to Atlanta, GA, to be with her siblings where she rededicated her life to Christ, remarried, and gave birth to her third son. After a divorce in 2008, Kim followed her calling in ministry, and her official journey began. In 2011, in obedience to God, Kim returned to Wilmington, NC, and became the founder and executive director of Soaring As Eagles Outreach Ministry, Inc. Its mission is to empower families of Title Schools, a mission to which she is highly devoted, fueled by similar trials in her own life. In 2015, Kim became an officer of the court as a Guardian ad Litem and received her master’s degree in Theology. In 2021, she received the NC Child Community Award.
