This class will be taught Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
This course will be an introduction to Lean Six Sigma and Theory of Constraints methodologies in order to integrate a culture of Continuous Process Improvement. Students will explore the history of LEAN Manufacturing, learn how to identify the 8-forms of waste, explore some of the metrics and tools used to eliminate non-value-added steps and reduce process variation through the focus on constraint mitigation. Topics briefly covered are included in the Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control (DMAIC) methodology. This class will provide managers and supervisors in manufacturing and service industries with the tools necessary to implement process improvements immediately within their organizations that have long-term effects.
