20 Puppies, 4 Dogs Removed From Randolph Home

RANDOLPH — Twenty puppies and four dogs were removed from a Randolph home after police responded to the residence on an unrelated matter. Randolph police responded to a home on Bossi Avenue on Wednesday, August 4 after receiving a report that a man had threatened a person doing work at his residence. When police arrived at the house, they spoke with the man who agreed to let them search his home. The officers found the home to be in a state of squalor with animal feces throughout. The man, Urie Louissaint, 28 of Randolph had four adult dogs and 20 puppies allegedly living in this home with unsanitary conditions without adequate access to food or water. The Animal Rescue League of Boston's Law Enforcement Department was immediately contacted and responded to the scene, coordinating with ARL Field Services to remove the dogs and transport them to ARL's Dedham Animal Care and Adoption Center. All dogs, with most aged 2-4 months old and believed to be a pitbull-type breed, were removed from the house. The dogs were placed into foster care and are not currently up for adoption, but within a few weeks, the ARL says most of the dogs will be ready to find new homes. "The Animal Rescue of Boston cannot commend Randolph Police and Animal Control enough," said ARL Law Enforcement Senior Investigator Lt. Alan Borgal. "Everyone involved in this situation demonstrated a high level of professionalism, compassion, and the steadfast commitment to removing these animals from the residence quickly and getting them the care they needed." Louissaint was charged with 24 counts of Animal Cruelty and one count of threats to commit a crime.
