Description

WAUKESHA, WI—Three zoning changes are scheduled for public hearings during Tuesday's Waukesha Common Council meeting. The Council will vote on approving the changes to the existing parks after the hearings. The Parks, Recreation, and Forestry Department is requesting to rezone the following parcels to park district: Cardinal Ridge Park is located on the west side of Milky Way Road, next to the Infinity baseball fields. The 40-acre parcel was acquired by the City of Waukesha in 2011. It is currently zoned single family residential. River Hills Park is a 4.9-acre parcel purchased from the School District of Waukesha in 2014 for the purpose of being a neighborhood park. The park is located to the east of Oakdale Drive along the south side of Parkton Drive. It is currently zoned temporary zoning. Oaks Park, located at 3600 Madison St., currently has a residential development in the area and the applicant would like to use this 0.58-acre site as a small park. The property is located on the northwest corner of Madison Street and Prairie Song Drive. It is currently zoned single family residential. The Common Council meets at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
