Description
The Gallery@57 is excited to show Beth Copp’s newest form of artwork. She has made a shift in technique. A fine artist, Beth has worked with oil, acrylic, and metal. She is now mastering the art of pour painting. Pour painting is a technique used to create paintings with natural, flowing patterns. It first began in the 1930s. David Alfaro Siqueiros, a Mexican painter known for his beautiful frescoes, experimented with fluid paints.
During lockdown, Beth began exploring new painting techniques. She found pour painting to be a great change of pace. Beth says, “Stretching the colors and the patterns into a composition allows me to explore designs I never imagined before. The painting finds me.”Inspired by the world around her, Beth encourages the viewer to see the world from a different perspective, whether looking up and out or looking inward. Her artwork is an extension of her world view.
