Update: Internet access to suburban area libraries has been restored, MCFLS said on its website. Patrons can get back to using library WiFi and other facilities after a brief internet outage. MILWAUKEE COUNTY — Many suburban libraries that are members of the Milwaukee County Federated Library System (MCFLS) are facing continued internet service outages, MCFLS said. Affected libraries include: Brown Deer, Cudahy, Franklin, Greendale, Greenfield, Hales Corners, North Shore, Oak Creek, Shorewood, South Milwaukee, St. Francis, Wauwatosa, West Allis and Whitefish Bay, according to the news release Monday. "MCFLS is working with AT&T to resolve a persistent issue that has left our suburban member libraries without Internet access or library system software available in house," MCFLS said on its website. The outages have left libraries without internet access or access to many in-house resources, MCFLS said on its website. The CountyCat system and other related resources are functional, allowing for continued checkouts. "On the bright side, remote access to CountyCat and our online databases is still available," the Oak Creek Public Library said on Facebook, "You can also check out materials as per usual by visiting our service desks or through Curbside Pick Up." For Oak Creek and other affected libraries, patrons are unable to access WiFi and other internet resources. For details about what resources are available, call your local library.
