BROOKFIELD, WI — The Brookfield Common Council will consider temporarily allowing residents to burn debris from last week's storms.
The council will meet at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday.
If approved, the proposed temporary ordinance would allow burning between noon and 6 p.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays for the rest of August. The ordinance would expire on Sept. 1.
A recycling center opened Friday to collect debris left by the storm. The Brookfield Recycling Center, 19700 Riverview Drive, will open Monday from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The recycling center will also open for its regular hours from Tuesday to Thursday, 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturdays 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., the city said.
