SECAUCUS, NJ — Released by Secaucus Police and unedited by Patch, all of last week's arrests: On Aug. 9 at 10:13 a.m., during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 37-year-old male, Shomari Morton of Hillside, NJ for one outstanding warrant issued out of Newark, NJ in the amount of $300. Newark Police released Morton on his own recognizance pending a future court date. Morton was issued 3 motor vehicle summonses and was released from police custody. On Aug. 10 at 12:09 p.m., Secaucus Police responded to the Meadowlands Plaza Hotel located at 40 Wood Avenue on a report from hotel management that cleaning services found a firearm located in one of the hotel rooms. A systematic search of the surrounding areas was conducted for one of the actors who fled the scene at the time of police arrival. During the investigation, the police arrested a 19-year-old woman, Monet Duran of Cedar Creek, TX for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm [2C:39-5B(1)], Possession of Hollow Point Ammunition [2C:39-3F(1)] and Possession of a High Capacity Magazine [2C:39-3J]. The actor who fled the scene was identified and a warrant for his arrest was issued consisting of the same charges. Duran was issued her complaint summons and was released from police custody. Original incident: Secaucus Police, K9 Pursued Man Through North End Of Town (Aug. 10) Note: This is the second arrest of a person with a gun at the Meadowlands Plaza Hotel. Police arrested a man who they say had an illegal gun at the hotel this past Saturday, as well: New Incident Of Man With Gun At Secaucus Hotel On Aug. 11 at 12:07 p.m., Secaucus Police responded to the Harper Apartment Complex located at 100 Plaza Drive (near the Walmart) on a report of criminal mischief. During the investigation, the police arrested a 23-year-old male, Hamza Khan of Secaucus, NJ for Criminal Mischief, [2C:17-3A(1)], Possession of CDS believed to be Alprazolam [2C:35-10A(1)], Possession of CDS believed to be Crack Cocaine [2C:35-10A(1)], Possession with intent to Distribute CDS believed to be Alprazolam [2C:35-5B(13)] and Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purpose [2C:39-4D], a fire extinguisher used to break the car window. Khan was issued his complaint summons and was released from police custody. On Aug. 12 at 11:57 p.m., during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 28-year-old man, Timothy Kegley of Holmdel, NJ for Driving While Intoxicated [39:4-50]. Kegley was issued his motor vehicle summons for Driving While Intoxicated along with an additional 4 motor vehicle summonses and was released into the custody of a responsible adult. On Aug. 14 at 2:02 a.m., during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 29-year-old male, Nishir Rios-Figueroa of Newark, NJ for one outstanding warrant issued out of Newark, NJ in the amount of $10,000 with a 10% option. Rios-Figueroa was also found to have 4 additional outstanding warrants issued out of Newark, NJ totaling $700.00, along with one outstanding warrant issued out of Bass River, NJ in the amount of $650.00 with a 10% option and 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Union Township, NJ in the amount of $300 with a 10% option. The police also arrested a 38-year-old male, Kevin Mclean of Newark, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Newark, NJ in the amount of $100.00. Rios-Figueroa was able to post bail for all involved warrants, was issued 5 motor vehicle summonses and was released from police custody.
