AKC Boxer for Rehome

Description

I am looking for a new home for our spayed AKC registered Boxer named Xena. She is a beautiful brindle colored Boxer and is considered to be petite (50 lbs). She 4 years old has been a part of our family for the past 3 years. Xena loves cats (her BFF is a Maine Coon) and has always been in a household with cats, but no dogs. She is skittish around new dogs at first, but will warm up. The reason we are rehoming is that Xena has a history of biting our children at toddler age when provoked and we can not monitor all interactions between her and our children going forward. She has never shown aggression toward anyone unprovoked and both bite occurrences were when one of our toddlers had her in a headlock. We are looking for a home for Xena that does not have any small children and an owner that can give her the attention she needs. She is house and crate trained and understands basic commands such as "down", "bed", "sit", "walk", etc. Boxers are indoor dogs only due to lack of undercoat and short muzzles. They are energetic dogs that love to play while also being excellent "guard dogs" to have in the house. Xena has always been on a Banfield plan and her vet records are up to date. I will be happy to transfer the plan to your name if you would like. We are asking for a $100 rehoming fee. She will come with everything she needs including her kennel, beds, food and water bowls, toy's, etc. I will require a home visit to our home to introduce Xena as well as a visit to her new home. Vet references are preferred, but not required. If we do not find a new home for Xena by Aug 22 then we will have to surrender her and we do not want to do that, if possible. Thanks!
