Here are the top stories today in Sacramento: Former Sacramento District 6 Congressman Doug Ose has ended his bid to replace Governor Newsom in the upcoming recall election. Ose suffered a heart attack at his home on Sunday night. As a result, while he is expected to make a full recovery, he has decided to end his candidacy. "Sometimes you have to do things that you don't want to do. It is what is: my campaign for governor is over," he said. (KCRA3)In less than a month, voting centers across the county will begin opening for in-person voting for the gubernatorial recall election. On Monday mail-in ballots started arriving in mailboxes. Some Sacramento residents have received voter cards that do not match anyone at their address. KCRA reached out to Sacramento County spokeswoman for voter registration and elections, Janna Haynes. Read a Q&A about how the County addresses the risk of voter fraud. (KCRA3) Los Rios Community College students can receive up to $200 to get vaccinated before October 1. In August the College Board voted to make it a requirement that all students be vaccinated. As an incentive, on Monday the college announced that students who upload their vaccine cards indicating the first shot prior to September 1 will get $100 and if they upload proof of the second shot, they will receive the second $100 bonus. (ABC10) Sacramento County is number 5 for home value growth in California over the last 5 years, according to data from SmartAsset, and 162 in the entire country. Home value was calculated using property tax dollars, school rankings and the change in asset price. As the exodus from the big cities levels off after the pandemic, the market may also see some leveling, according to Mark LoCastro of SmartAsset. (FOX40)Authorities were called to a boat on the Sacramento River just south of the Tower Bridge on Monday night. When they arrived they found a man in need of medical attention.
