NORTHBROOK, IL — The following information comes from the Northbrook Police Department and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt. ARRESTS DRUG POSSESSION Randal Willis, 28, of the 0-100 block of N Wolf, Wheeling, is accused of possession of a controlled substance, driving without lights, and was arrested at 6:53 p.m. Aug. 8, at Dundee Road and Edens Expressway. He was assigned a court date of Sept. 3. DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE Colin Chapman, 22, of the 700 block of Skokie Boulevard, Northbrook, is accused of driving under the influence, improper lane usage, and was arrested at 10:14 p.m. Aug. 8, in the 1500 block of Shermer Road. He was released after posting a $1,000 bond and assigned a court date of Sept. 3. SUSPENDED DRIVER'S LICENSE Robert Mauer, 53, of the 700 block of Broadview Avenue, Highland Park, is accused of driving with a suspended driver's license, expired registration, and was arrested at 8:07 p.m. Aug. 11, in the 800 block of Meadow. Bond was set at $2,500 and he was assigned a court date of Sept. 24. LAST WEEK: 'DEA Agent' Attempts To Dupe Resident With Phone Scam INCIDENTS IDENTITY THEFT A Greenwood Road resident reported at 9:20 a.m. Aug 6, that someone used their information to open a credit account without their permission.A Fairview Lane resident called police at 10:29 a.m. Aug. 6, that they received notification that their information was used to apply for unemployment benefits without their permission. THEFT A customer at AMC Theaters, 1500 block of Lake Cook Road, reported that between 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Aug. 6, someone removed their unlocked bicycle from outside the main entrance.A person called police at 3:50 p.m. Aug. 9, to report that they locked their bicycle to the bike rack and when they returned, it had been taken. RETAIL THEFT An employee at Old Navy, 40 block of Skokie Boulevard, reported at 6:11 p.m. Aug. 9, that a male and female, both wearing blue masks, entered the store and removed multiple items in a tote bag without paying for the items.An employee at Walgreens, 1000 block of Waukegan Road, called police at 1:20 p.m. Aug. 10, to report a male was seen on video concealing items in a backpack then leaving the store without paying for the items. SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES A person called police at 10:04 p.m. Aug. 9, to report they saw lights flickering at Wescott School, 1800 block of Western, after hours. Officers checked the school and there was no evidence that entry had been made to the building.An employee of Chase Bank, 1700 block of Shermer Road, reported at 1:48 p.m. Aug. 12, they believed that a customer may potentially be the victim of a scam. An officer made contact with the customer, who stated that two men were out in the parking lot waiting for them after they had performed a damage repair on their vehicle. Officers attempted to make contact with the subjects, however they had left the area. No loss was incurred by the customer as a result. CRIMINAL DEFACEMENT An officer reported at 10:30 p.m. Aug. 9, that they found new graffiti on the gazebo at the Skate Park, 1700 block of Techny Road. BURGLARY A resident in the 1000 block of Dundee Road called police at 1:43 p.m. Aug. 10, that someone removed various tools from an unsecured garage. Stay Patched In!
