MANCHESTER, NH - Manchester Police are investigating two different incidents involving violence and property damage in the city Monday. Police responded to the area of Pine Street and Orange Street at about 8:25 p.m. for a report of people hearing gunshots. Witnesses told police they heard multiple "loud pops". They also saw a light-colored sedan with tinted windows and a dark-colored pick-up truck driving at a high rate of speed from the area. Several witnesses also told police they saw "muzzle flashes" coming from one of the vehicles. Officers investigating the incident found multiple shell casings near the intersections of Pine St and Orange St, and Pine St. and Prospect St. The investigators also found bullet holes in a first-floor bedroom at 541 Pines Street and damage to several cars. Police responded to another call at about 9:00 p.m. at the intersection of Second Street and Blain Street for a report of criminal mischief and an assault. When officers arrived they located a car pulled over with hazard lights on and someone calling out for help. Police spoke with a 26-year-old woman who was bleeding from the head. The woman said she was driving south on Second St when something fell through her sunroof, hitting her on the head. Officers found a rock in the car, which appeared to be what had hit her. The woman was taken to Catholic Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. Just prior to this incident, police had received multiple calls that some kids were throwing items off of the footbridge that goes over Second St. Police were unable to find any suspects. This is under investigation and if anyone has any information about this incident you are asked to call Manchester Police at 603-668-8711. You can also remain anonymous and call Manchester Crimeline at 603-624-4040.
