MISSION VIEJO, CA — Cox Communications offers a new program to provide reliable broadband internet service for all. With some help from the FCC's Emergency Connectivity Fund, Cox is helping people get connected in Mission Viejo and across South Orange County. The new Cox program is open to students, teachers, school staff, and library visitors who need help getting online. Funding is being shared with schools and libraries to deliver internet services to families and individuals who otherwise are unable to pay for reliable internet services, according to a recent news release from Cox Communications. Customers will be offered internet at a low monthly rate with no term agreement, no deposit, and access to over 3 million Cox Hotspots nationwide for the next year. Pat Esser, President and CEO of Cox Communications, spoke on the heart behind the national program, saying they "immediately raised our hand to participate" in connecting people to the internet. "Across the country, our teams are reaching out to school systems and libraries to ensure they are aware of the ECF program so they can help consumers take advantage of the program as soon as possible," Esser said. Senior Vice President and Regional Manager Ingo Hentschel sees the greater need for broadband. "We recognize that within California, there is a greater need than ever to have a reliable broadband connection," Hentschel said. "We're excited to offer affordable internet options to our communities." Do you qualify for the program? Visit cox.com/ecf for more information.
