Description
LAGUNA BEACH, CA — The Laguna Beach City Council approved establishing a haven for Monarch Butterflies at Heisler Park.
Coming soon, a monarch butterfly and pollinator garden will take root thanks to a recent resolution from the city council. The resolution includes the planting of the native milkweed plants and the installation of an educational sign.
Approximately 200-square-feet have been dedicated for the park, according to a city spokesperson.
The installation will be a combination of city park staff and volunteers who will work together on the butterfly garden making it into a "conservation sanctuary" for monarch butterflies.
