SCHAUMBURG, IL – Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi issued the following statement on the passing of former Congressman Paul Mitchell of Michigan:
"It was with great sadness that I learned earlier this week of the passing of my friend, former Congressman Paul Mitchell. Paul was a man of courage, intelligence, good humor, and an unwavering commitment to service, no matter the personal cost. In Congress, I was proud to work him on a range of issues including preventing government shutdowns and strengthening our national security, as well as our legislation to bring transparency and accountability to post-secondary education.
In a time of division, Paul brought people together. In a city of egos, Paul put others first. And in an era of partisanship, Paul Mitchell was a true patriot.
Today, our nation is poorer for the loss of a loving father and husband, a principled legislator, and above all, a good man."
