Press release from the Atlanta Police Department: 08/15/2021 Preliminary Information: On 8/15/21, around 5:35 pm,  An Atlanta Police Officer reported that while working in the area of MLK and Magnum his police vehicle was stolen. Officers notified communications to provide a lookout over the radio, when another unit noticed the stolen patrol vehicle stopped in traffic. The suspect attempted to get out of the vehicle and walk away when he was approached by officers and taken into custody without incident, no injuries were reported. This investigation continues. Please keep in mind the above information is preliminary in nature and could change as the investigation progresses or new information comes to light.
