** To be considered for this position please apply at: Summary/Objective The Building Maintenance Custodian is responsible for two office buildings (1 larger and 1 smaller); Cleaning and sanitizing offices, desks, bathrooms, and kitchen areas, taking out trash and various other cleaning activities. They have basic knowledge around building cleaning and repairs and are able to coordinate vendors when needed (such as pest control or professional plumbers for larger/complex issues). The ideal candidate for this position is self-driven, can work independently, detail-oriented, flexible and willing to take on non-routine and special projects as the need arises. This is a full-time position with full benefits including medical, dental, vision, sick, vacation and bonus opportunity. The hours are typically Mon-Fri 6am-3pm; however there is flexibility if a later start time is needed. Drive company vehicle between the two locations Ensure cleanliness in all public areas, offices, cubicles, conference rooms, break rooms, kitchenettes, lobbies, and other required areas Clean and sanitize restrooms in the office including sinks, toilets, showers and floors Empty all trash in the office and replace liners Re-fill all paper, soap dispensers and coffee supplies Water plants and pick up leaves Clean out refrigerators and microwaves periodically Replace batteries and lightbulbs Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, or vacuuming them Wipe down desks and glass Dust windowsills, ledges, corners, wall mounted items and baseboards Proactively maintain and replace all equipment (including batteries for toilet and sink sensors) Wipe down common areas multiple times a day (such as bathrooms, breakroom counters, door knobs etc.) Maintain equipment and supplies in neat and orderly fashion Notify Office Administrator when cleaning and maintenance supplies need to be replenished for both locations Notify supervisor about unsafe conditions or concerning the need for repairs or maintenance Other duties as assigned Work Environment This job operates in an office environment. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching for periods of time. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Requirements Required Education, Experience & Skills 2+ years of janitorial/custodian experience Valid drivers license and satisfactory driving record Must pass background, drug test and motor vehicle report Periodically work varied shifts to accommodate business needs (shift is primarily Monday-Friday, however weekend support may be requested for special events) Ability to observe safety and security procedures and to comply with policies Ability to read and interpret written information; ability to write clear statements; ability to communicate orally Must be able to do physical work and operate equipment normally found in janitorial operations Attention to detail Ability to follow schedules and keep commitments Ability to follow directions from a supervisor Must be able to manage time efficiently and to work independently Preferred Education, Experience & Skills High school diploma or general education degree (GED) Experience in a large office setting Handyman skills a plus
