Manhattan Shade & Associates is a third-generation family business with a portfolio of high end AD100 clients. We are a very busy window covering dealer located in New York City and Long Island. We are an industry leader serving our customers for over 75 years. We are seeking someone who enjoys working as a team member as well as working independently. Must be well-organized and have excellent interpersonal skills. Applicant should be a self-starter who is able to multi-task, learn quickly and takes pride working in a fast-paced environment. This position is based on customer service, scheduling, and handling shop responsibilities. Applicant must be willing to learn window covering products and ordering procedures. Job Description: Responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Answer telephone inquiries. • Contact customers, vendors, suppliers, designers, architects, and installers to furnish information or ask questions. • Coordinate customer appointments and installations. • Data entry work including entering installation appointments into the calendar and checking the status of orders. • Work closely with co-workers and management on various office tasks. • Prepare items for shipping and create the appropriate shipment documents. • Manage the shipment and receipt of all products, materials, and supplies. • Maintain a clean and organized workspace. • Promptly loads and unloads trucks and deliveries. • Retain inventory levels. • Engage with vendors and drivers with a positive attitude. • Identify and resolve shipping and/or receiving discrepancies as they arise. Qualifications: • Experience in the window covering field is preferred, but not required. • Knowledge of QuickBooks is a plus, but not required. • Detail-oriented with a high level of personal accountability. • Strong organizational and time management skills. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • A Minimum of 2 years of office experience in a customer service-oriented role that requires interactions with customers via phone and email. • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office. • High School Diploma or equivalent required. • Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. • Must be able to lift and/or move a minimum of 50 pounds.
