Looking to learn a skilled trade? SiteWise is currently hiring Equipment Operators to learn the natural gas industry. These crews are responsible for going into residential and commercial areas working on underground utilities and working with their crew to complete tasks for the day. Core Values: T- Trust R- Respect A- Accountability I- Integrity T- Teamwork S- Safety General Purpose The Equipment Operator with CDL is responsible for installing utilities and replacing main line utilities. This position drives commercial vehicles equipped to transport a variety of materials and equipment. The Hiring bonus program total Amount is $6,000 (subject to all applicable taxes and deductions) *Hiring bonus is eligible for all applicants that apply by 08/31/2021.* Pay rate range is: $23-30/hr, DOE Essential Duties/Responsibilities Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. • Operates, maneuvers, navigates, or drives vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as forklifts, or passenger vehicles • Uses either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines or processes • Inspects equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects • Uses relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards and communicates abnormal working conditions to appropriate parties • Meets company and customer specifications for all trench or backhoe jobs • Exposes underground utilities manually • Conducts post-job quality checks • Cleans, checks fluid levels and conducts a visual inspection of equipment to assure your equipment is performing at optimum safety and the required paperwork • Communicates with supervisor daily to turn in required paperwork • Cleans, checks fluid levels and conducts a visual inspection of vehicle/equipment to assure vehicle/equipment is performing at optimum safety, performs the required pre-trip, post trip inspections and the required paperwork, perform needed maintenance including winterizing equipment • Utilizes defensive driving practices • Operates truck in a manner that ensures compliance with all applicable company, state and federal safety regulations • Follows required company and DOT reporting procedures • Maintains paperwork during the day including DVIR and driver’s log book • Ensures the truck has current licenses, tags, permits, and proof of insurance • Travel is required up to 50% of the time Other Duties/Responsibilities: • Performs other duties as assigned Experience: • One (1+) plus years of experience in backhoe/mini excavator operation is required • One (1+) plus years of experience digging and working around underground utilities is required • Two (2+) plus years of demonstrated experience in dry utilities preferred • A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A or B with air brake endorsement is required • Tanker endorsement is preferred • Experience reading basic prints and underground Facility Location Sketch is preferred • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year to year basis Additional Requirements/Licenses/Certifications: • Possession of a valid State Driver’s License is required • Candidates must pass Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check, a Department of Transportation (DOT) regulated physical as a requirement of the job and pass a pre-employment drug screen SiteWise offers a great benefit package which includes: •100% paid training •Company paid Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) •Quarterly Safety Recognition •Medical, dental, vision and life insurance •401(k) with company match •Paid time off •Advancement opportunities, we believe in investing in those who want to invest in us For more information on our benefits, click the link below: *Peak Utilities Services Group and Subsidiaries are an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer, Minority/Woman/Veteran/Disabled.*
