Do you value community, community service, the wonderful work done by non-profits, the positive impact of community engagement? Do you notice there are some challenges matching needs with service or even getting the word out there to more people about needs and about opportunities to engage in your community? A few of us have been mulling over some ideas about how to make it easy to donate or receive skill, time, and energy from others in a way that is not just transactional but really builds a sense of community. Inspired by some excellent examples of grassroots groups helping community through Covid and the excellent mission of so many nonprofits, we are eager to rally likeminded people in an initial conversation about what a truly efficient, impactful, and scalable network promoting reciprocity, generosity, and care could look like? If this seems of interest to you, join us August 25, 2021 for an interactive discussion over zoom. This gathering will start with some words from Justin Dovidio, business consultant/technology specialist, who will share the origins of an emerging idea he has had to marry a technology solution with a vision for a dynamic community. Participants will then be invited to share observations, experience with volunteering, and discuss aspects of what an ideal community consists of.
