Eduard Florea of Queens, New York, pleaded guilty in federal court Monday to threatening the life of elected officials on social media, including Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-Ga.), and while he didn’t physically engage in the deadly attacks on Jan. 6, Florea was part of the far-right movement fomenting violence from afar, as he urged others to “take up arms to unleash violence at the Capitol" in order to “thwart the results of the Presidential election.” Late in the evening of Jan. 5, Florea posted that Warnock would be "swinging with the f***ing fish" (a possibly botched attempt at the expression, “sleeping with the fishes”).. A short while later, Florea referenced Senator Warnock and stated, "Dead men can't pass sh*t laws," prosecutors claim. "The time for peace and civility is over… Guns cleaned loaded… got a bunch of guys all armed and ready to deploy… we are just waiting for the word," Florea posted on Jan. 6, adding, "It's time to unleash some violence."
