"HORSES ARE NOT OUR WHOLE LIVES BUT THEY MAKE OUR LIVES WHOLE" Trillium Family Services offers a great opportunity to be part of a dedicated equine team helping children and adolescents in psychiatric residential/outpatient/community or day treatment programs.. This position is responsible for the care and feeding of horses, as well as assisting with the upkeep of the facility and equipment during weekends. APPLY NOW: www.trilliumfamily.org/careers Demonstrates Competency in the Following Areas: Feed and water horses; Turnout and bring in horses; Run errands as needed (i.e. pick up feed, do laundry, etc); Monitor and document horse first aid and health care needs; Clean stalls; Monitor and ensure the safety, cleanliness and upkeep of the equipment, tack, barn, office, and stable grounds; Participate in training activities as necessary for promotion and professional development; Manage crisis situations as required, including horses caught in fence, cast in stall, escaped, or suffering from injury or illness; Exercise and school horses; Transport horses as needed; General maintenance; painting; and repairing fences or gates; Ensure that the basic needs of program participants are met regarding safety and security; Manage crisis situations as required, including resolving conflicts & problem solving, and providing first aid as necessary; Model appropriate social and interpersonal skills, work ethics, respect for animals, and basic horsemanship skills; Assist unauthorized visitors as needed and report to cottage staff; Complete all training required for the position.
