We are an expanding lumber retail company that specializes in sawing very large logs and burls into gorgeous natural edge lumber. We are looking for an Sawmill Lumber Assistant to join our production team. Must be able to take direction from General Manager and prioritize jobs in a fast paced environment. Multi-tasking is a must. Needs to be reliable and professional at all times.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Operating and maintaining bandsaw mill
- Operate and assist in loading and maintaining kiln
-Learn to operate and maintain large commercial sander
-Learn to use and maintain a chainsaw properly
- Maintain and track inventory spreadsheets
- Basic machine maintenance
- Improve upon procedures
- Assist sales department
Preferred if applicant has :
- Knowledge of various species of wood
- Computer Experience
- Basic knowledge of machinery
- Good physical condition
- Know basics of Woodworking
