$700 - 1000- from the pub owner divided by 5 mates and $100 for the soundtech equals $120-150 a musician. 3 hours to set up and tear down, 4 hour show and an 4 hour round trip drive to the gig during beach/Disney traffic equals $11- 14 an hour. Gas, rehearsal space fees, gear, not to mention one afternoon a week for rehearsal and one night of your weekend to gig erases any cash this situation generates. Those who know realize that we do it for the joy of playing.
