Summer Bee College 2021 (SESSION 2: August 20 & 21) **SPOTS ARE LIMITED due to UF classroom capacity! Sign up for this session before it is full. Each workshop and classroom are first come, first serve**Join the UF/IFAS Honey Bee Lab at the 2021 University of Florida Summer Bee College for one or two days of all things honey bees. Those new to beekeeping can follow the beginner track, while more experienced beekeepers can participate in hands-on training in the apiary, classes on honey bee research, and other advanced topics in beekeeping. Those interested in Honey Judge Training, please scroll down to the bottom of this page. Discounted RatesEarly Bird Discounted tickets are available now through June 20, 2021. Additionally, a discount (10% off) is available for 2-day tickets to active duty military members, Retired Veterans, Florida State Beekeepers Association members, active members of the UF/IFAS Master Beekeeper, Master Gardener, Master Naturalist Programs, 4-H Members, UF/IFAS county extension faculty, and anyone under 18 years of age. Contact [email protected] for the promo code to use at checkout. Late registrations begin July 20, 2021 and will incur additional fees. Late registrations cannot be discounted. Bee Clubs/Associations can purchase a 2-day ticket at a discounted rate ($160) to raffle off to your club's members. Only one discounted ticket is allowed per club. Follow the steps below: As a club, purchase the $160 bee club ticket. When completing this registration, enter your bee club’s name, not the purchaser’s name.Hold your raffle and e-mail the honey bee lab [email protected] with the winner's name and e-mail address.The winner will receive instructions on how to register for their free ticket.VendorsBee-related vendors may be onsite at Bee College throughout both events. LodgingThere are multiple options for hotels near the UF/IFAS Honey Bee Lab, including many near the intersection of I-75 and Archer Road, which is less than 10 minutes from the lab. We also recommend that you look at hotels in Ocala, Alachua, and High Springs. The show will take place during the FIRST SESSION of Bee College. If you would like to submit your items to the honey show, you must register and attend Session 1 (August 16 & 17, 2021). Honey Judge TrainingUF/IFAS Honey Judge Training and Honey Show will NOT be offered/held during SESSION 2 of Summer 2021 Bee College. The Honey Judge training will only be offered/held during SESSION 1 of the Summer 2021 Bee College. *For information about Honey Judge Training, please contact Ms. Glinda Burnett at [email protected] SocialThere will be one social per session (Monday, August 16, 2021 and Friday, August 20, 2021). To sign up for the social, you must be registered for any session of Bee College. E-mail [email protected] for more information on how to sign up. RefundsRefund requests will be honored in full if submitted prior to July 20, 2021. No refunds will be granted on or after July 20, 2021. Participants cancelling/withdrawing within 40 days prior to the start of the program are liable for fees in accordance with the following schedule (We count the day UF HBREL receives the written e-mail notification as the date of cancellation/withdrawal): 31-40 days prior to the program's start date: 50% of program fee 21-30 days prior to the program's start date: 75% of program fee 0-20 days prior to the program's start date: 100% of program fee The University of Florida Honey Bee Research and Extension Laboratory (UF HBREL) will not refund airfare or other costs (including lodging reservations) incurred as a result of cancellations/withdrawals. Participants should keep this in mind if purchasing non-refundable tickets and should consider purchasing cancellation insurance to reduce risk. The University of Florida Honey Bee Research and Extension Laboratory reserves the right to cancel a program. Under such circumstances, program fees are refunded based on aforementioned refund policy. UF HBREL reserves the right to make changes, modifications or substitutions to any of our programs. Misc.Registration will be 8am on both days. Doors to the building will not be open prior to 8am.Bee veils and other protective equipment will be provided for all in-hive courses, however, you are welcome to bring personal veils, suits, etc. if you would prefer.Light refreshments will be available for attendees at registration, as well as drink refreshments throughout both days.Parking information and content available for the workshop will be e-mailed to participants closer to the workshop days.E-mail [email protected] for any comments/questions.
