Family-friendly hike up Mount Wachusett in remembrance of September 11, 2001. All are welcome.
Join us on September 11 as we informally commemorate the 20th anniversary of September 11, 2001 with a group hike up Mount Wachusett. Everyone is welcome, and this hike is self-paced (no need to race). Rucking is optional and this is open to families (the trails are not stroller/wheelchair friendly, although there is a road that may be used to access the summit by car). We will gather at the trail head at 9:00 a.m. and step off at 9:11 a.m. Water and snacks will be available at the summit to hikers at no charge. The state charges a $5 parking fee payable at kiosks located in the parking lot.
Water and snacks will be available at the summit thanks to MassVeteran.com and CVS Health. MassVeteran.com hosts a variety of community activities throughout the year for the Massachusetts Military & Veteran community, as well as their families. Check them out at www.MassVeteran.com, a resource for Massachusetts Veterans being built by Massachusetts Veterans.
