TFP Models and Photographers: Let's go visit a famous farm on the outskirts of Durham for a model and photographer shootout! Herndon Farm is a tourist attraction in Durham and is famous for sharing certified organic produce with the local community and it also has quite a history. Kept in the family for over 200 years this 75-acre farm is protected from future development by a permanent land grant. So while the burbs and development have sprung up all around South Durham, this gem of land will forever stay in the Herdon family. From large oak trees, white picket fences, and an 18th century home, this will be a great place to explore our creativity. The theme will be "That Country Girl". Models should bring two wardrobes: one a light sundress with boots. Cowboy boots are not necessary but if you have them great; just any kind of mid-calf or a knee-high boot. Similarly, a cowboy hat would be great but not required—just bring whatever you have. A changing tent will be on-site, and bathrooms will be available upon request. This is a real working farm, so we should be respectful of fences, animals and areas that are off-limits. There is a family cemetery on site which is obviously off-limits and there may be other areas that the property owner wants us to stay away from. Expect to sign a waiver of liability form to protect the owners. We will keep this event open to RSVPs until we have enough to cover our costs. We have three professional models and the venue to pay for so there will be a non-refundable charge of $38.50 except in the case of a weather emergency: like hot and extreme humidity; light rain will not cancel the event, but lightning will. Because parking on-site is limited, we can carpool in two or three cars from the large Best Buy parking lot right down the road. Let's plan to have a quick pre-shoot meeting and get signatures for liability forms. Total time should be no more than 15 minutes. Please bring plenty of water, have makeup ready, and be dressed in your first outfit. ***small print, sorry guys, this is for everyone's safety*** This will be a COVID safe meetup where facemasks, social distancing and hand sanitizer will be encouraged. Durham is under an emergency order mandating that all businesses enforce the wearing of facemasks indoors. Even though this will be an outdoor event, we will be in close contact with one another. Wearing masks is optional but highly recommended.
