Urban Greenscapes is seeking a driven Landscape Tech who is reliable and has an excellent work ethic. This is an excellent position for the right candidate. Urban Greenscapes is looking for a Landscape Technician to join their professional maintenance team. Work out of the company headquarters, conveniently located within steps of the University of Florida campus in Gainesville. Applicants with experience in landscape maintenance, plant replacement, and plant care are preferred, but we are willing to train the right person. Required Skills/Qualifications: • 1 year of experience in landscaping (preferred) • High School Diploma required • Drivers License required • Mowing • Weed eating • Edging • Hedge trimming • Blowing • Installation of mulch and plant material • Work independently, available on-call to resolve problems that arise. • Ensure all safety standards are followed. Working Environment: • Must possess strength, stamina, and mobility to perform medium to heavy physical work, to work around machines, to climb and descend ladders, to operate a variety of tools and equipment, and to operate a motor vehicle; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen and to distinguish colors in wiring; hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone or radio. • Frequent walking in operational areas to identify problems or hazards. • Requires dexterity needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard, calculator and to operate tools and equipment. • Required to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and inspect work sites. • Must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds or heavier weights with assistance and/or the use of proper equipment.
