Inspired by adrienne maree brown's Emergent Strategy approach to gathering & change, Liberated Relationships supports solo entrepreneurs! "To close the gap between what we actually want and need and what we communicate to others, we have to be in the practice of authenticity in relationship, or what I'm calling Liberated Relationship." - adrienne maree brown, Emergent Strategy Inspired by the approach for gathering & change, meaningful action-oriented community conversations and equality in gathering outlined by social justice facilitator adrienne maree brown, the Liberated Relationship series will focus on community support for solo women, non-binary, BIPOC + LGBTQIA+ entrepreneurs and allies. There will be four 90-minute sessions available in September, holding space for eight attendees each session. Individuals can sign up for a solo session or all four. Four spaces per session will be held for BIPOC entrepreneurs, two for LGBTQIA+ entrepreneurs & two for any / all women or non-binary identified entrepreneurs. What are we considering a solo entrepreneur? Anyone who works currently by themselves on a project, business or passion and is looking for community support in ideas, action and social justice. Anywhere between owning your own storefront to just getting started on your own artistic career or finally chasing your million dollar idea, this is a space to ask for what you need and receive the generative energy of focused group conversation. The gatherings will be facilitated by The Martin's Founder & Curator Whitney LaMora but each session will be collective-driven. This event is vaccine-only and proof of vaccination will be asked for before or at the event. Due to this, our event will be seated and guests will be invited to remove their masks, or keep them on for the session. Guests are welcome to purchase a beverage from Split-Rail before the session with sessions starting promptly at 6pm CST and ending at 7:30pm CST. The Martin is an artist-first community space located in the West Town neighborhood of Chicago.
