The Women’s Council organized the Lily Fonteno Scholarship and Award Fundraiser in 2001 in honor of our founding members, Lily Fonteno The Women’s Council organized the Lily Fonteno Scholarship and Award Fundraiser in 2001 under in honor of our founding members, Lily Fonteno. The fundraiser was started in conjunction with the Community Credit Outreach Program (CCOP) that was founded in 2001 under past President; Melinda Dightman’s Administration and developed by the past President Shirley Penn, the goal of the CCOP program is to teach financial literacy to middle and high school students. Every year we award derserving high school graduates with scholarships to aid in their journey for post secondary education. These funds can be applied to educations journeys to four-year universities, community colleges, and trade schools.
